Who we are

We are a group of committed, like-minded professional actors whose main focus is to be continuously honing our skills. We meet on a weekly basis. Each session starts with a physical and vocal warm-up, followed by acting exercises, improvisations and scene work. The main focus of the group is in depth work on scenes by both new and established playwrights, as well as exploring specific practitioners’ approaches to rehearsal and performance.

How it works

We invite directors to work with us on scenes from a play of their choice or, alternatively, we offer a selection of scenes from various plays that we have been working on. We encourage an environment in which to experiment, play and practice and are open to directors wanting to try out different approaches that they may not have time for in a normal rehearsal period. We are also inviting specialists in particular areas to come and work with us on developing their approaches to working with actors.

How we differ

What sets us apart from other workshops is that we have a pool of experienced professional actors of differing ages whose regular work together means we have a high level of trust and commitment within the group. Scenes are learnt for the workshops, allowing us to work on them in more depth. We currently have 21 core members with the potential to utilise other actors as we progress. The writers in our group are encouraged to develop new material and establish connections with directors who are interested in working on new writing.
